The Saffron Milk Cap (Lactarius deliciosus) is the mushroom par excellence in Catalonia, embodied in all kinds of dishes and a vast cookbook so it is very appreciated in gastronomy.
Rounded hat and orange hues usually between 0 and 2.5 cm. In his youth the hat is wound by its edges, as it ages is flattened to form a funnel shape. His foot is hollow and short, more or less cylindrical or slightly tapered at the base. It has the color of the hat but paler.
With a singular form, its flesh is dense and compact, with soft smell and taste sweet crude is somewhat bitter end.
It grows in pine and mixed forests, crops out in autumn.
