The Medium Saffron Milk Cap (Lactarius deliciosus), is the mushroom par excellence in Catalonia. Embodied in all kinds of dishes and a vast cookbook so it is very appreciated in gastronomy.
Rounded hat and orange hues usually between 2.5 and 5.0 cm. In his youth the hat is wound by its edges, as it ages is flattened to form a funnel shape.
The foot is hollow and short, more or less cylindrical or slightly tapered at the base. It has the color of the hat but paler, with a unique but little aroma and so it lacks uniformity.
Its flesh is dense and compact, with soft smell and taste sweet crude is somewhat bitter end.
It grows in pine and mixed forests, crops out in autumn.
